Welcome to The Wi-Fi Toolbar for IE
Please note: Some features may differ from time to time as we update the toolbar frequently. For example, we recently removed the Free Anti-Spyware plug-in until further notice as it has a minor bug You can search major search engines, news sites, products, Auctions, depending on which flavour of the toolbar you download. Our Toolbars are themed (when / where available). The main themes we have are: Wi-Fi Hotspots for Wi-Fi users, Generic for anyone, News for news addicts, Auction Buyers / Sellers and products comparisons etc. In addition, the toolbar has the "Appeals" or "Messages" window which can only show up when clicked. This tiny web page is for appeals from charities like the Red Cross or OXFAM for disaster or worldwide hardship relief. The small window can also be a web page hosted by our server for web sites that are known to help charities or are involved in mostly non-profit activities. Those web sites usually enter into prior agreement with us to distribute the toolbar with their own Messages / Appeals button, for more information on partnerships, email: toolbar@wi-fihotspotsdirectory.com. Make sure the Toolbar Pop-up is enabled as the screenshots are javascipts pop-up windows (the only pop-ups we have by the way, needed to show you the images). Main Toolbar Features: - One Keyword / Phrase for all: ScreenShot You can type in one keyword or phrase, then choose the search engines or sites on which you would like to find your results. Results are then returned as fast as if you are already browsing the sites themselves. If you want to search an other site or search engines, just click it for the same search.
- Search & Highlight:ScreenShot When you search for something such as widgets, sometimes you may find a site that has widgets, but you are faced with a mile long page on which you may have to browse until you eyes drop. With search and highlight, the word widgets is highlighted with the color yellow for example, that will help to find widgets in any results page straight away.
- Clever Pop-up stopper:ScreenShot An integrated pop-up stopper that can be enabled or disabled at any time. In addition, you can choose to allow certain sites and ban certain sites. The ability to delete the pop-up stopper counter and revert back to zero without having to uninstall the toolbar.
- Options Button:ScreenShot The options buttons lets your toolbar be flexible and does certain things only if you want it to. For example, you set it to search by opening a new window for search results, show your last searched word as a button for quick re-search next time, auto complete, run search automatically when you select from the search history....
- Zoom in / out as many times as you want:Zoom In ScreenShot - Zoom Out ScreenShot If you are partially sighted, have poor vision (like me) or simply would like to control how big or small should the fonts be, this button is the answer. You can zoom in or out on any web site you visit through the search to as many levels as you want, the restriction is only in web sites that do not allow it due to them using style sheets etc.
- Privacy & Clear Button: ScreenShot Now you can clean your computer right from this button. Normally, you have to go to so many levels in Windows to do that, now you have one menu to choose from at a click of this button. You can clear / clean: Recycle Bin, Temporary Internet pages (Cache), Cookies, Temp files, IE History, Address Bar, Blocked Pop-Ups, Auto Fill Forms, Clipboard, Search history,.....
- Quick Launch of popular programs: ScreenShot Sometimes when you are searching you find something you want to make a note of, you need to copy and past it in Notepad or WordPad, now you have a menu to choose to launch them as well other programs (if you have them installed). You can launch Notepad, Wordpad, FrontPage, MS Word and others instead of minimizing your window and going to Program Files.....
- Easy install / uninstall and update: ScreenShot The Toolbar can be installed, updated and uninstalled in a couple of seconds while you are browsing. Depending on the Toolbar you downloaded, most have an auto-update on the fly while you surf and connected, usually once or twice a week. You can still update whenever you wish to, it'll tell you whether you have the latest toolbar or there is a newer one to update.
- Sidebar Search Engines: ScreenShot When you install the toolbar, it has its own side search which includes Google, Ebay, Amazon and or different search partners, depending on which search engines we work with at a given time. You can always revert to the default search engine, usually MSN search by going to the IE search Options. The search partners are of course a major source of donation for us, leaving them as your default will greatly help the network, besides raising much needed charitable finds. When you uninstall the toolbar, the search option may still be showing our sidebar search page, you can change it to other search engines if you wish in the browser search options. The screenshot may be showing different search partners or different search engines and is only an example. Charitable Feel good factor: ScreenShot On the toolbar, there is a button, named "Appeals", "Messages" or a similar name, that button when clicked opens a tiny window to a small web page hosted on our server for charitable appeals by default. Depending on which relief and emergency aid is needed at given time, the Appeals button is intended to voice and appeal for help. Whether you help or not, this button opens a quick link to charitable organizations and serves as a quick news flash, some people will find the call for help worthy of their response, and some people may not. Generally, just having it there, you are helping by having that cause on your conscience and thoughts. One day you may as a result speak about it to friends, they may help, hence you helped as well. Note: The Button can also serve as an advertising space ONLY for partners from whom you download the toolbar who meet our requirement for non-profitability or they are themselves involved with charity work. Our main aim is to reserve this button for helping the needy worldwide whether directly or indirectly.
